Project Description:
Build a new distributed and scaleable Collection Services Application, based on Microsoft .Net technology
IWorking with the client in the clients early adoption of the .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET we helped validate their technology decision to use Visual Studio .NET as an application development environment and use the .NET Framework as a platform to create both WinForms and Web applications that utilize XML Web services for integration with legacy systems and information sharing.
These features were deemed critical for the clients plans to dramatically expand their loan portfolio quickly while enjoying the enhanced scalability, stability and extensibility of a redesigned system using a .NET based infrastructure.
Project Solution:
The .NET Framework and Visual Studio .NET provide the integrated development platform for creating the functionality needed.
By making extensive use of the Microsoft Application Blocks (e.g.Data Access Application Block, User Interface Process Application Block, Exception Management Application Block and others) developers have been able to quickly create stable, complex, collaborative solutions through the management of reusable code.
Application of the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern based on Microsoft's User Process Application Block has provided tremendous support to developers creating programmable WinForms User Interface components, while use of the Microsoft Data Access Application Block (both ODBC helper and the Oracle helper) has significantly reduced the time to complete complex data access logic.

Example 5:
Client: Energy Products Manufacturing/Distribution
Project: JD Edwards E1 platform and systems upgrade, standardization and centralization project to 8.12 release. In this project Simacor provided lead resources with JDE Financials, Distribution, and Manufacturing Application functional experience and expertise. Simacor Resources lead Application suite upgrade efforts and worked on analysis of existing processes using knowledge of JDE E1 to implement/re-implement from prior releases to a centralized existence of E1 8.12.
Project Description:
The project was to provide implementation/upgrade support for multiple company business units and for all Application suites, with a focus on a centralized existence, with a corporate goal of standardized processing concepts.
Goals were to bring all business units to the same version, on one instance of JDE E1 8.12 and have all core modules of Financials, Distribution, and Manufacturing implemented using the functionality of JDE, supporting the core business needs, in a consolidated standardized business process.
Phase One was to create a Global Financial Solution and a Global Address Book that will provide a basis for future conversions and growth.
Phase Two A is to upgrade a Distribution Division from a hosted 8.9 & XE environment that was highly modified onto the corporate 8.12 environment with the goal of minimal modifications.
Phase Two B is to convert/implement a Manufacturing Division from a Legacy HP system onto 8.12 with the expressed goal of being “vanilla.”
Project Solution:
Phase One was accomplished doing multiple client interviews and determining interface requirements to other non-corporate systems.
Shared financials - Bring selected companies/divisions into GL systems based on a standardized chart of accounts, with properly defined companies and business units, and sub ledger supported detail. Since the company is still multi-platform, automated feeds to other systems were created.
Shared Address Book - Convert/merge multiple Address Books into one corporate model that will be the “Master” Address Book going forward for companies not yet on the upgrade plan.
Phase Two A is a conversion from a hosted 8.9 Oracle Database instance to an 8.12 Corporate Model on an iSeries. This company has a complex Distribution model where Purchasing and Sales are closely linked and freight costs are an important piece of the business. To resolve many of the original customizations, JDE Transportation is being implemented and has minimized the customizations and standardized processes.
Phase Two B is an implementation from a 20-year-old Legacy distribution system that was not integrated to a full manufacturing and distribution suite of applications including Transportation to support the manufacturing and distribution requirements for a Multi-Facility manufacturing company.
