A Java GUI Developer is a programmer that takes the Java graphical user interface (GUI) technology contained in the standard AWT/Swing toolkit and uses that technology to build stand-alone desktop applications or web-deployed Applets (thin client applications). Since this type of program runs on the desktop (or inside of a browser), this type of programming is also known as client-side programming.
